engine damage?

Hi After messing around with my slow speed needle adj .At take off she stummbled and skipped real bad.I limped it back to the ramp and took it home. Took the carbs off and ripped them down. The problem was the plastic retainer on the carb where the needle valve goes through had got up in the threads and after pulling the core plugs a piece was blocking the seat.I could see the hole was full of the plastic .My qustion is could i have done damage to piston sinse the middle carb was not working do to gas blockage? this motor is a 60 hp 3 cylinder 1970

anything is possible. if you ran lean long enough yes piston problems but not likely. if your plug is clean you should be ok.
