Engine identification.

Guys,

You gave me lots of help with my Johnson outboards a couple of years back, I now have a bigger boat and require some help with the inboard engine ID.

I have a GRP hulled cabin cruiser, the engine says "Mermaid" on it and I think is 70hp.

Question is, is it a Ford Mermaid marine diesel and if so are manuals still available?

Hi skipper 47, need more numbers or picture of the engine but most were ford diesels.

I have MP-470 in my diary, don't know if that means anything, going to the boat this weekend will look for more numbers.
