fuel 87 or 89 1970 60hp

just wondering what the best fuel to run in a old 1970 johnson 60 hp outboard.allso what is the difference between the 2 stroke oil. i think it is tw3 that they say is best to run with a outboard 2 stroke. something about ashless.whats the deal with this. i do use the tw3 but at times the store just has reg 2 stroke oil.does it really matter.

Does the reg 2 stroke oil state that it's 50/1? What brand is it?

yes the reg 2 stroke oil has the 50to1 ratio along with other ratios.its 3onces per gal. same as the tc w3 outboard oil. just wondering what made the difference between the two. and is it a must to use only the tc w3. vs a 2 stroke oil that does not have the tc w3 listed on the container the brand i use is havoline tc w3 .it calls for 3 onces per 1 gal 50 to 1 mix

use TCW-3 at 45 or 50:1---------cheap oil just costs more money in the long run.
