I have a Mercury made in Belgium. Its serial number is 9462862. Anyone know what year it is? And how

That's a 1986 number, but I can't tell you the hp- Merc model year guides only give a serial # range. We could probably give you an idea with some more info- number of cylinders, approx. size, a photo would help.

it's an 8 h.p. With 40th anniversary written on it.any idea of year please? I need to find the fuel:eek:il ratio.

Mercury started in 1939------------So 39 plus 40 is ??--------Or it refers to 40 years of operation in Belgium ???
 
Hi there. Can anyone tell what year my engine is please. Have an intermittent fault that is driving me mad. Engine runs sweet but after 20mins it just cuts out and won’t restart for 30mins or so.

Hi all, i have a 60hp mercury with serial number 9416144. Unsure what year and whether it's a 2 stroke or not. What would the mixture be if it is a 2 stroke? Thanks
 
I would say it is a 1985 model ( brown stripe decal ? ) ----It would be a 2 stroke oil injected or 50:1 if that is bypassed.
