Mariner 30 ELO

I was just gifted my grandfathers boat 88 Grumman V-hull with a Mariner 30 ELO 689 Series. I cannot seem to find a service manual for it. There is a letter L, then the number 417855. Not sure of the year either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

689 L 417855 translates to a Yamaha made motor. 689 equates to the primary identity code. L equals the shaft length. 417855 is the serial number.

Your Mariner 30ELO is the equivalent of a 1987 Yamaha 30ELH if an electric start model or a 30LH if no electric starter.
