Would this be considered as the iron duk

no the iron duke is a pontiac engine (151 CID) that was built in 1980s where the mercruiser 3.0 and earlier 2.5 are chevy based- from the 153 cid engine that came out in the 1962 Chevy II (Later Nova). Later the engine was expanded in displacement to 181 CID/3.0 which was an industrial /marine engine never put in cars only forklifts generators, trash pumps, and boats.
