Mercury lower unit oil

I am told that Mercury Premium

I am told that Mercury Premium (Brown) and Mercury High Performance (Blue) must not be mixed. Can any one tell me the reason please

Could be that one is synthetic and other mineral based? I would assume that the more expensive one (high performance variant) would be synthetic?

Not too sure myself, ask your supplier if in doubt.
