Newbie needs help please.

Hello, I'm new to the forum and new to boating. I have a Bayliner Capri with a 50 hp outboard Mercury. It is not pumping water and I've tried clearing the drain. I understand how to pull off the bottom end and replace the impeller. That's what I thought I would do next. The problem is the only numbers I can find on the engine is a tag that says: serial number 6308653. I don't know the correct impeller to order based on this ? I would appreciate any help.

Thank you for the reply. Do I need to unhook a linkage? Or remove the tab that's above the prop ? (See pic) if so, how do I go about it?

Put motor in forward.-----Remove tab above prop ( hidden bolt ? ) -----No shift rod disconnect needs to be done.

Ok. I don't see a bolt for the tab?

I loosened up the 2 nuts on the side, and 1 below the tab. Seems like something is still keeping it from coming off ??

Remove the bolt for the trim tab !

I don't understand how the tab is removed? No bolt in it.

Would there be a bolt from the top ?

Ok, I feel silly ! I found it recessed in a hole. Got it apart and there is nothing left of the impeller! Up against the impeller housing there was a rubber o ring and a round spring just laying on it. Going to order replacement parts. I hope they come with instructions!
