no water out egaust relief holes

hi guyies,I just put a new water pump on my 60 hp johnson 1970.The piss hole at the lower unit gets a nice stream of water when ran.Butt the relief holes dont even have a mist comming out. It runs cool all day i can put my hand on the head after a good run at the lake.After looking at videos of motors I see the relief holes putting out a mist of water.Should I be consern?And what can I do to fix it.The water pump has 2 ports on it and 2 copper lines up the mid section.
