Today I was heading back from the beach and about 3-4 minutes in the engine died (2011 Yamaha 70 HP OB) . (I had run it earlier in the day for 35 minutes with no issue). It sounded like a lack of gas issue for sure. I pumped the ball and it started right up and then died again. I tried it one more time and it again started and got me home. I did the trip back at a lower RPM although as I kept raising the RPM, it sounded fine.
Any thought what might have caused this? I was wondering if I inadvertently put a kink in the hose that goes from the gas tank to the engine. My wife and I got off and on the boat using a ladder in the stern into the water.
