book specks say 22 degrees. after using a timming light it shows it is running about 24 degrees at 4500 rpm is this ok?

sorry this motor i am asking about is a 1970 60 hp esl-d.One more thing I should add is I have 30 over glm after market pistons witch are a lower compretion piston from the stock lopper style with a slite dome on the top of the piston. these after market glm pistons have a flat top. The guy i got them from said they will run better with todays gas vs the gas back in the day.so again should i compersate the timming adjustment do to a lower comp piston? thanks Tony
