Volvo Penta Aquamatic 100 - Outboard Unit Bearing Housing Removal

Hi,

I am overhauling my '63 Glasspar Avalon, and I cannot get this dang bearing housing off. Something seemed wrong with the internals, it was very rough to rotate, so I want to take it apart and understand whats going on in there.

I've tried "pulling" it with this homemade puller, but at a certain point, it feels like something will break if I keep ratcheting it.

Is there something I am missing about how to remove this part?

I ended up putting heat on it and hitting it with a hammer. The jig I made to try to pull it out was useless because that is all one piece. Just hit it kinda hard under heat and it'll shimmy out.
