INSTALLATION SPECIFICATIONS AND TOOLS
MEASURING MERCRUISER RIDEGUIDE CABLES
Dimensions allow for a 6 in. (152 mm) radius at the helm & an 8 in. (205 mm) radius at the transom location. Care should be taken in selection as too
long or too short of a cable can both cause an increase in steering friction & shorter cable life.
MEASURING FOR EXHAUST RISERS
The exhaust elbows must be located a sufficient distance above the waterline (at rest with maximum load) to prevent water from entering cylinders
through the exhaust system. Available in both 3 in. (76 mm) or 6 in. (152 mm) sizes, risers may be selected using the required minimum distance chart
found in the appropriate engine installation manual.
