Hello and thank you for taking the time to read. We have a 2019 Mercury 9.9 4 stroke outboard that is presenting the following symptoms.
The water flow-through has become intermintent. At times it almost completely stops peeing. At others, it goes near what i assume is full force. Either way, eventually the intermintent flow causes the engine to overheat and steam is seen to be coming out of the coolant exit.
At the same time, while it's running, the red oil light comes on. It comes on after the engine has been running for a minute or so. It stays on for a few seconds and then turns off. This symptom repeats ever couple of minutes.
Are these issues possibly related? They both started at the same time. Any ideas?
