2004 F60 continuous alarm sound

The motor has run well for years but yesterday I had an alarm sound after trolling and a brief run.
My first thought was an overheat from something wrapped around the water intakes.
Motor switched off and all clear. Trolled for a couple hours and then on the run back it sounded again twice
and both times I checked and no obstruction to the intakes.
Water from the telltale is cool.
Engine oil level appears normal.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?

Over temperature or low oil pressure. One of the two.

I would tap into the wiring so that it will be known exactly which of the two that it is. Then go from there.

Motors need a new impeller about every 5 years.----When was it replaced on this motor ?----Poppit valve inspected ( if equipped ) on this motor.---Fresh or salt water ?

Salt water use, impeller and thermostat changed last year.
Not sure about a poppit valve ? where is it located ?
