70 hp mariner problem

I have a 70 hp mariner . Why is the water coming out of the pee tube hot ? The motor has good compression

serial # is ?-----Have you replaced the impeller ?-----Testing in a bucket with water 6" above the impeller ?---On muffs ?----With boat floating in the water ?

Yes we were running the boat in the water and the alarm went off on it for overheating and the water coming out of the pee tube was hot.

I was just thinking a cracked head or something lol

We have replaced the impeller 2 times trying to correct the problem

I do not believe there is a cylinder head on this motor.

Serial # of this motor ?----Find the cause of overheat.----Poppit valve inspected ( if it has one ) for damage / blockage.
