'87 25hp long shaft model id location?

Hello, i am trying to figure out how to identify the model number for this motor so i can start ordering the seals and other parts i'll need to keep her running strong.

I found the serial number plate but there is no other info on this plate except the serial number itself.

The bill of sale has it labelled as a model e but mercury says the model e is a short shaft. and my motor is a long shaft.

so this is just confusing for me.

You only need the serial # for parts on a Mercury. Model # is not needed.

Post a picture of your motor.---I see many motors listed for sale as " long shaft " when they are short without a doubt !!

i do but i'm having a hard time posting them due to the file size. i do have the serial number though

That is definitely a long shaft. But it is usually the L that denotes long. E is usually electric start.

so this motor is a long shaft electric start. and remote steering and throttle.

I do have the serial number but where would i use this to find the proper parts i would need. as the site i am currently using for parts is asking for the model number.
