Tilt/trim Merc80

Hi,Could someone settle a difference of opinion please.When did Mercury start putting Tilt/Trim on the 80HP as standard? I have looked at several online parts lists and the first time I see T&T on the parts list for the 80HP is 1980.Prior to that no show. One guy has a '79 80HP with T&T. I know that it can be fitted to the older models,and always assumed that it was an extra that the dealer would fit if requested.So any and all information greatly appreciated.Thanks.
 
I do not think it was ever a standard item on the 4 cylinder like yours.--------------Fact , in the 88 factory catalogue Trim / Tilt is an optional item on the 3 cylinder 80 HP .

Interesting that. Seeing as these are heavy animals to lift without the Tilt/trim,even for the likes o' me ,strong back,weak mind. I hope you don't mind if I quote you?
