89 Mercury 20hp no spark

the stator didn’t pass a resistance test so I replaced that but still no spark. Went to the switch box and replaced that and still no spark. Haven’t checked the ignition coils yet but not really sure how to. I don’t have a manual multimeter and I’ve been told it’s almost needed to work on these. Any tips would help.

Disconnect the black wire yellow stripe from the switch box and see if spark comes back? Is the toggle switch in the run position?

I’ve tried that. The kill switch is disconnected right now

Yes sir they are wired together so disconnecting the wire that goes to the switch box eliminates both
