Used parts

Hello. Does anyone know of a website that sells used honda parts? My I'm finding several parts on my engine that are no longer available. Thanks

You might try this place. Someone on this site posted that he had something they needed that Honda no longer sold. I wrote down the contact info because the poster indicated that this place was helpful and friendly. Try to have a part number ready as that might help keep them friendly.

Although yumbo-jp.com has pretty much what boats.net sells, I have seen listngs there for a couple of old carburetors that were unavailable on boats.net so it might be worthwhile to check there. They are a legit, discount, genuine Honda parts dealer in Japan that Europeans and Australians get parts from although shipping for American customers might be expensive.

I routinely haunt craigslist for used parts. The San Francisco site is a place where lots of Honda stuff is regularly listed. Craigslist, Ebay and maybe an old parts motor might just get you over.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into those

You're welcome and I hope that you can find what you need.

Keep in mind that it's likely many thousands of outboards just like yours were sold at that time. That makes your outboard valuable still if you find that it's not feasible for you to "get it going" the way that you would like to. If it comes down to letting it go because of that, someone out there wants it or the good parts it still has.

IMO a Honda is pretty much never a total loss.

Just sayin'.

I have not found anything I need that is not still possible to find on amazon and ebay short of some machineing solutions and making custom gaskets. you may need to search by part number and get creative in finding other words to describe the part and use visual matches or include other years that have the same part. my b75, 7.5hp 1975make is all original down to the lines and tank,

The fuel pump was difficult to find for less than I paid for the entire motor, however a 10$ vacuum pump retrofit solution is in the works now: I am curious if anyone has done an intake mounted pipe nipple vacuum line for a fuel pump before. (AI SUGGESTION) I am choosing a non destructive assembly with worn parts simply removed from the old pump and first attempting to use positive negative crankcase ventilation pressure from the old pump body fuel outlet with a solid gasket made for the fuel intake assembly to block it off. if this is unproductive I will seal off the valve cover hole and use a threaded nipple drilled into the intake being careful to vacuum all the debris while drilling & threading. I am swapping the intake and carb style as I have a b75 1975 vertical float carb which seems to work however am swapping to newer style intake and carb and rerouting linkages to test the alternate fuel supply solution.

points I intend to attempt to replace with a low power 5 wire ac powered generic cdi module with dead spark on exhaust as I do not have the integrated cdi coil.

Thanks for the help. I decided to go in a different direction. I bought a 2025 suzuki 25hp and have put the honda up for sale as a project or parts motor.

In that Boat Forum thread, people are discussing where to get a scan tool for marine engines, especially models that can read fault codes and sensor data on popular outboards and inboards. Many contributors recommend looking at marine‑specific diagnostic tools from Yamaha, Mercury, or Volvo/Penta dealers because they speak the proprietary language of the engine computers. Others point out that general OBD2 scan tools are fine for some boats with automotive‑style systems, but they often lack the deeper diagnostic access you get with manufacturer tools or licensed third‑party interfaces. Members also stress checking compatibility and connector types before buying, since marine wiring and protocols differ from cars. It’s clear that having the right tool can save time and money when troubleshooting engine issues on the water. Outside of marine tech, if you need to handle communications like documents and faxes on your phone or web browser, there’s the modern fax app from https://comfax.com/ that lets you send and receive faxes easily without traditional hardware.
thanks for the information!
