    Rh rotation help !

Yes, my Trojan is a 1996, 390 Express, with 454 XLi, TBI injected, Gen V engines. Both engines turn std. LH rotation, but the port engine spins the port side prop counter clockwise. I'm not entirely sure where the reversing of the prop takes place (transmission or v-drive gearbox), but that is...

    Rh rotation help !

If I had to guess, he never had an RH engine, no press fit gear, and no timing gears. My 1996 Trojan, Gen V engines have two std. rotation engines, and the CCW prop is done somewhere in the transmission or v-drive.

Crusader Gen6 rh rotation info ?

You should not have a reverse rotation engine in your 1998 Trojan.

2005 150hp Carb Saltwater Series Flywheel Removal

Update - apparently the flywheel bolt is stripped, and there isn't a good way to get it out. There's no way to get a nutbreaker on it, because it's down in the flywheel. No way to put pressure on it to use the flywheel to help it out. Looks like this block is headed to the scrap yard.

    Crusader throttle body fuel injection

FWIW, adding more zinc won't help the rings to seat. Oil should never really be outside of the crankcase/oil system. The cylinders are relatively dry, or should be. High fuel in the oil is much more likely a sign of running rich, would help prevent the rings from properly seating. Rich...

2005 150hp Carb Saltwater Series Flywheel Removal

How do you remove the nut that holds the flywheel? (top of the engine, that engages with the starter) The crank isn't turning but the nut just spins.

Winterizing Fresh Water Cooled (Closed Cooling) Engines

I just disconnect the feed for the raw water pump, and run the engine for a short while, dumping antifreeze from a funnel, into the hose. Generally run it just long enough to run 2.5 gallons through the block and risers, drain everything, and call it done. Takes around 4-5 minutes per engine...

1997 454XL (Throttle Body Fuel Injected)

If you need a pierberg pump, I have one. It was a spare for a boat that I no longer have. The pump has a rubber boot over it, I can't get a part # off of it.

    Mercury Optimax 150hp Compression test

I would like to do a compression test of a Mercury Optimax 150, but no battery/keys. Can I use an electric impact (spins around 550rpm) ran in reverse (I believe it's a LH rotation engine) with a socket on the flywheel? 15/16 socket? Bonus question, any tips or tricks to pulling the outboard...

1997 454XL (Throttle Body Fuel Injected)

I used this kit here to rebuild mine, but I bought it through O'Rielly Auto Parts. It was $17 when I bought it, with a "lifetime warranty" (I did warranty it out once, but they were reluctant... I brought a bunch of small torn gasket pieces up there, and said I needed to warranty the gasket...

1997 Sea Ray SS - No Cockpit lights

Thanks Mako... I tested the 12v into and out of the switch. It has 12 at the blue wire coming in, and 12v at the blue wire coming out, tested using the black ground at the switch. Somewhere between the helm switch and the first socket, the wire switches from blue to gray. I have no 12v at...

I have a spare Pierburg pump if you need one.

1997 Sea Ray SS - No Cockpit lights

Thanks, the 380 is a significantly different boat, but both of these had pieces of useful information. I'll need to try to find a wiring diagram somewhere. I was able to test the switch, and the switch has power, and the switch is operating properly, but the 12v coming into the switch is a blue...

Engine acts like it is in limp mode.

Try your oil pressure switch, it will nerf power to the fuel pump after 1900 rpm, if it detects low oil pressure. Check actual pressure with a mechanical gauge, and test the oil pressure switch itself. Do you run rec fuel or auto fuel? You may want to try changing your fuel filter as well...
