I threw a bunch of new parts at my ignition. Now I know at least those aren’t going to be letting me down. It ended up being the coils switched around and power pack and fly wheel key. It was a few good sparks then weak sparks tho.
I said exhaust tube but it’s the tube to keep the exhaust away from the shaft.
I took my motor off the boat put it on its front or the transom mount whatever you want to call it and put the copper tube on the engine side then slid the lower on till I could only get a couple screw drivers in...
Did you make sure the copper pipe was in the rubber grommet up top? And is the rubber grommet in good condition? I’m changing mine right now and can’t get the exhaust tube to fit in. So it won’t slide together all the way.
Mine keeps running sometimes too. Not sure if it’s a ground issue or what it is. You probably know how it works but when you turn off the key it is supposed to ground the power pack and kill it. A new key switch fixed it for a while but it’s doing it again.
