    Ok I tried it a few times again and still no progress. I did this time by putting the reverse gear, race, needle bearing, and race on the back of the reverse gear. That allowed me to see that the reverse gear teeth are engaged with the pinion gear teeth but even so it still sticks out the...

    I am putting new seals in lower unit - I took out bearing carrier and now I can't get it all the way back in. I probably moved the shift shaft from where it was when I took it out. It seems like I have tried everything but I am sure I am doing something wrong. Help!! Thanks everyone.
