Hey all - just a few questions about my throttle control. It's the same one as the one pictured here in this reddit post
I am not looking to replace, though I managed to break the tabs for the "shell" as I use it to stabilize myself while micro-adjusting throttle underway instead of the...
Are you saying the engine fires up and these noises happen? Do they stop while running? Do you feel anything or is it just noise?
You could just have noisy pulleys. Mine will do this after sitting for a little while. It goes away once then engine has stayed on for a little while.
From what it looks like, that connection would never have fit on the kill switch. No clue what was going on there.
Thanks for the knowledge sharing- hopefully this thread helps someone else in the future.
Thanks to both of you guys.
The culprit was correctly pointed out. The wire leading to the buzzer..? I put it on the kill switch and wired the buzzer to one of the gauges.
We are back working. My question is.. how the hell did it ever run with this wiring configuration? I am almost suspect...
Like you mentioned and in the pic, it goes to the kill switch. Then that goes nowhere... What is a little bizzare is that, unless somehow things became unplugged and are now missing- the dash was working prior to the clicking after turning the key at the boat ramp. Had no control on any...
That purple wire goes up to the buzzer behind the dash. It is zip tied for some reason to the rest of the ignition.
Should there be 2 terminals to the kill switch? Also how would that kill the dash power?
When using the meter, could get 12V on the red/yel and the fuse wire (which i think is battery power)-
With key on, could not get reading off of purple
The kill switch does work. I ripped the lanyard off once when parking and yeah, it shut off lol. It’s a single wire from there to the ignition switch. I bypassed the kill switch, still no 12V reading
You said 12V on yellow/red only when cranking. I have key on but not cranking, and it’s giving...
