DF9.9B high pressure fuel pump issues

This is the world’s first 9.9 HP outboard motor designed with Lean Burn and Battery-Less Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI). The Suzuki EFI system is first in the industry’s horsepower class to work without a battery. My research as lead me to believe you don’t have a battery(B series), if so...

DF9.9B high pressure fuel pump issues

Do you have a sub battery cable, commonly called the “white wire”? The sub battery cable should be attached to the battery + post and feed the ignition switch 12 Volts. I’m not even sure if the smaller Suzuki engines have a white wire, I’m guessing here.

Water leaking between lower unit and top unit

With the lower unit off, look for a water tube that sits over the discharge on the water pump. Rig up a garden hose to fit over the water tube and turn on the hose. You should have water coming out the telltale and and the exhaust port that would normally be coming out the propeller if the lower...

Subject: Suzuki DF20A (EFI) Aggressive Hunting at High RPM & Hard Start - Pumps Replaced

If you suspect an air leak try a propane torch(unlit) and see if any changes to idle when the propane gas is introduced to the via the leak. To test the sensors you would need a genuine Suzuki service manual, the procedure and specifications will be listed in the service manual. Suzuki has...

    2017 BF60 weak tell tale

Not sure about Honda outboards but some manufacturers clearly state in the owners manual that you do not run the engine when using a flush port. Barrel filled with water or “ear muffs” over the intake ports. The muffs are hooked up to a garden hose. Introducing water to the flush port on the...

New (but mothballed) DF60A Electrical and Fuel Issues

Drain the VST. You probably have old stale fuel in it, collect the fuel in a clear container, I’ll bet it’s the colour of an amber ale. Once the VST is empty prime the fuel bulb again and cycle the key on/off a couple of times to fill the VST. Try starting it again with fresh fuel in the VST. A...

    2019 Suzuki 6hp four stroke DF6A

On a now defunct Suzuki marine forum I was reading about an issue Suzuki had with their smaller portable engines a few years back. https://www.marineengine.com/boat-forum/threads/suzuki-df2-5-keeps-bending-valves.438749/ Maybe your issue?

    BF90D overheating at WOT

For lowering or raising the engine I have read where a guy used the front jack on the trailer and a couple of helpers to support the engine. Extend the jack to maximum height, wood under the skeg then lower the jack which will bring the transom up till the hole align. The trailer axle acts as...

2025 Suzuki 115 outboard lower unit pressurizing

Something isn’t adding up. With the vent screw(top) out and you pumping oil in the drain screw(bottom) oil has to come out the top. It takes awhile for me to get 850ml in with a hand pump on my Suzuki DF90A but the oil does come out the top when full. I can’t see how you can blow oil out of...

    BF90D overheating at WOT

Out of round cup, slightly bent/deformed base plate, worn or missing impeller blades, water tube grommet issues. Tale tell confirms the water pump is pumping, doesn’t indicate how efficient it’s pumping. Overheat conditions suggest check regular maintenance items, water pump is a maintenance...

    BF90D overheating at WOT

You don’t mention a water pump replacement, that’s where I’d start. Not just the impeller but an entire water pump assembly.
