What year is this mariner?

Anyone know what year this is? And where to get a service manual? I picked it up cheap and not running. It would drop the top coil at idle. After lots of farting around. I cleaned points to discover a homeade woodruff key that was loose in the slot, assuming it let the flywheel (and timing) move. Which it broke and I made another one while I ordered more. Anyway. Can anyone help?

What is the engine serial number?

It is going to take a very sharp man to identify a model year by a photograph of a cowling.

Circa 1977 model year motor. Made by Yamaha.

I have no idea as to where to get a Mariner service manual for that model. Yamaha USA did not start offering outboard motors here in the US until 1984.

It is quite possible that a service manual for a Yamaha US 15SN might be the best you can find.

Searching the serial number yields the model number to be 7015207 making the engine out to be a 1977 year model too, https://www.marineengine.com/parts/mariner-outboard-parts/15a
