Milky oil leaking out

Good morning all,

I bought a new to me Lund with a 1974 6 HP Evinrude. I have overhauled the carb to get it idling properly and while running in bucket of water noticed milky oil floating to the top. My next step was already to replace the impeller and change the lower unit oil. I was getting the kit from the site here but want to make sure of any seals and gaskets I may also need to stop the leak and intermix. So my question is do the water pump kits come with the seals/gaskets I'll need or is there a separate one I need to be looking for? Thank you in advance.

Any water in the gearcase oil ?----Those lower units can not tolerate water.----Damages the driveshaft and bushing above the pinion gear.-----Some gas / oil mix goes right through the motor and ends up with what you see.-----I recommend a lower unit seal kit if it was never done yet.----Shift rod o-ring is a major leak point.----Those lower units are simple and easy to work on.

Thank you. I noticed after taking out of the water the milky oil running down where you disconnect the lower unit above the gear oil level screw hole but couldn't find a seal or gasket for that connection. Would you suggest I order the water pump kit and the seals you stated?

If you want this motor to last another 50 years , it needs a new impeller.----Seal kit as well , if never done.-----First take it apart for inspection BEFORE ordering parts.
