    9.5 h.p. Throttle closing.

Returning back with results of the open water test. Throttle held it set position at mid range or higher. The throttle would creep slowly close at in the lower ranges. That is when the vibration set in for what these models are noted for without the anti vibration kit installed as this...

    9.5 h.p. Throttle closing.

Pulled the flywheel off to better access the detent and spring. I would have to remove the throttle plate to remove the detent and spring. No space to remove it otherwise. I did not want to make this a real project at this time so I used a very small pointed file to clean the serrations...

    9.5 h.p. Throttle closing.

    Altitude attitude

Same fuel same temp and humidity. 1 year old thermostat.Pumping good water. I will get out on the lake here at the 975' soon and see if I have to adjust back. As long as the motor runs fine so be it.

    Altitude attitude

1973 Johnson 9.5hp. On a recent fishing trip I had transported boat and motor from an altitude of 975' above sea level to 725'. I found that I had to dial the mixture adjustment to rich to get a smooth idle. I would have never thought that 250 ft in altitude would make a difference. The motor...

    1985 Evinrude 15 HP

Southeast Michigan Oakland County $165.00 per hour plus parts. I can understand the high cost of keeping a business open. The reason I learned to repair and maintain my personal outboard motors. Find nice Older motors for cheap as too costly for most to repair.
