140hp yamaha oil injection issue

Hi all, I have a 140hp yamaha precision blend , early 90 mod.
Ran fine on inspection when purchased. Three days later I fired her up and again she ran great.
Came out to boat the next day and oil tank on engine had emptied out into engine bay area.
Topped tank back up. It is dripping from air box on carbs. Would anyone know what is going on with her?

I would have to think one or more of the small feed lines between the pump and intake have a check valve open. They could be an inline style or made into the top cover of the oil pump itself. This was a common issue with the made into version. It is a simple repair, remove pump,remove oil feed lines, obtain a drill bit of the correct diameter to install into the outlet holes on the pump cap. using a small hammer, tap the bit to reset the spring and ball. To verify, tilt motor up to max, use throttle control to open butterfly's, allow to sit over night, if problem rersist replace pump.

Is the oil tank on the engine the only tank or does it have a reserve tank in the boat somewhere?

Hi, there is a tank in boat as well. When key turned to on it does pump oil up to tank again. When she is trimed rigt down it appears to be working fine, only happening when engine is tilted back slightly. Can not find an in line check valve. Cheers
