1970s OMC 35hp question

I just got a 1977 Evinrude 35hp and the wiring is pretty bad on the big plug that connects to the remote start. I know a marina that has some cheap parts motors.
My question would be:

Are there any models of the 35(I assume 25hp would also work) that don't have the engine wiring harness with the plug for remote start? Maybe a tiller model?

If its a red plug you can find those all over. You don't need one off of a 35 any of them will work. Newer ones may have extra wires in them but should work.
