1978 mercury 50hp parts question

Looking for water pump kit but each one I pull up the housing or other parts look different that what we pull off, serial keeps saying not found 5007566

If all things are original, then the kit part number ought to be 89983T2.

I found the impeller kit number by clicking on the newest part number and reading through what fits description and luckily this website Marine Engine.com is awesome enough to do their best to include kit numbers when/where possible.

If yours don't look like that in the photos in the above link then you may have to measure the impeller out sort of what like they call it out as in the 2 following parts links for a different engine to see if you can find a way to compare notes.

If you can't seem to find an impeller match, maybe try posting a few photos of everything you have there (Lower drive housing, impeller plus housing base, etc.) with the hopes someone may recognize something too.
