1980 Mercury 110(10/9.8HP)Issues

Hello,

It would be great if these can be answered

1-the tell tale is low water at idle more at higher rpms
2- the engine is locked in down position cannot figure out how to unlock and raise
3- Unable locate a manual

Shift to forward and see if it tilts up.-----Motor needs new impeller about every 5 years.

By the way what's the cable that goes down the leg for?

Release the hooks manually and tilt it up.----Cable is hooked to mechanism to release reverse lock I think.----So something is missing / broken on your motor.

Remove the tilt pin, slightly lift up on the motor to get the weight off of the tilt pin and pull it out. Then you should be able to tilt the motor up and see what's going on. Different way to skin the cat.
