So I managed to get the bottom leg off the motor after two years of trying. I'm the second owner of this motor/boat and I dont think it was ever replaced, I think the motor only has 20-30 hrs use on it. I I have ordered a complete new top and bottom housing kit along with seals but I was wonder if there was meant to be a shaft seal in the top cover. It also look a little like it has melted is that something which can happen.

Im also assuming that bearing gets lubricated by the oil on the gearbox? It looks a lot better after being cleaned up.

Regards

People do start motors without cooling water for the pump.----That melts the housing.-----Motor needs new impeller every 5 years.----It was long overdue.
