1988 See Ray flybridge not engaging reverse

Not sure what happened, but I lost my reverse gear. I have forward a neutral but not reverse. After removing the cotter pin and engaging the reverse drive manually the system works as it should. I do not see any frayed cables. Can anybody take a look at the video and tell me what I’m missing? I cannot upload any videos or pictures for whatever reason.

back a while, one used to have 5 posts before you could upload videos or images...separate forum for that.

what is your drive train composed of?

any idea whose controllers you have?

single or dual station?

either the cables are worn internally or it just needs a tweak of the addjustable stud on the shift plate

Dual helms 1 on flybridge 1 inside…
I’ve looked at cables in both areas. When moving the levers on top and behind look fine no frayed cables. The unit has 2 arms 1 forward and reverse on right and throttle on the left .

When I remove the cotter pin and pop out the nut, it shifts easily and to reverse

If it's been several years since the lower shift cable was replaced it might be time
