So to start my sad story, I purchased a 1999 wellcraft 230 fisherman earlier this spring. The boat has twin 1999 150 XL/OS engines on it.
The issue i am having is one of the engines run great but the other, not so much.
Maiden voyage was rough, the starboard engine would not start unless it was lifted out of the water, and it would die as soon as I lowered it. Finally got it going and then got an alarm above 2000 rpm’s and it was in limp mode. This model is carbureted and does not have a computer system.
Took it to a local mechanic and had the water pump rebuilt and the thermostats changed. But this did not fix it.
Anyone have any suggestions on where to start?
