20 Hour Oil Alert Reset

I have a new 175 Suzuki 4 stroke and have not met the 20 hour oil change yet or alert but I'm getting there very soon.
I wanted to make sure if turning the key to on position, and pull the kill switch out 3 times within 10 seconds, then turn the key off and put the lanyard in and start it is the proper way to reset the alarm? Thanks

Correct. Listen for a short beep to confirm the cancellation is successfully finished

You nailed it. Just a heads up for the future - if you ever add NMEA 2000 gauges down the road, sometimes they can be a bit finicky with the reset, but the manual 'kill switch' method is still the most reliable way to clear it. Congrats on hitting that first 20-hour milestone!

Can the 20 hr maintenance be a diy instead of a dealer maintenance procedure?

I’d check the fine print on your warranty papers…personally I’d be nervous should you need warranty work down the road and they deny you due to a 20 hour service missing on their records. Ask the dealership, I’d be curious to what they say.

My dealer had "no issues" with me doing the 20-hour service -- but I did buy the oil & filter and lower unit fluid from his shop.
