200 hp with a not proper serial number how you find out info?

hi so i dunno where do you find the serial number of a 200 hp engine?
on the bracket it shows A136555 as the serial number for merc but from what mercury shows a 7 character serial number is not proper but has to be 8 characters so wehre else on the engine is the serial number printed? also the cowl is not the proper it was stolen so has another cover put on it so if the serial number was there it wont work for me

Yes, with the alpha numeric (serials) production numbers you always insert a "zero" at the start which they do not print on the serial plates.

So your serial is 0A136555 which makes it a "built in 1985, sold as a 1986 model".

ok using that 0a136555 doesnt still work on this site or boats net for finding it so what model is it for the 200 as i dont know can you send me the link which one it would exactly be cuz i have no idea
cuz next be the parts lol

i looked at all the 200s all models and none of them start with 0A they start like 0C so now what? which would it be?

and what sucks is i found on boats.net pics right and some here but for this engine i have modules that are not listed for this engine i guess its a crank pos sensor or something? and there is 2 of these boxes dont know how the other one is wired as i bought this engine with hte one pat hanging its a box that is like 1 inch thick and 4x6 and with 3 wires coming out

so there is kinda pics if u choose the engine models just above the list but its like 0G to 1B how does that work?

well either way its messed cuz it doesnt show any electrical wiring cuz from looks of the box i have a jet pump on mine but has 2 of the boxs not sure 100% what it all is ut the top of the engine all it says is V200
so i lost cuz sites dont show much electrical wiring for the 0G to 1B style ugh

guess i better get upper canada marine t tell me exactly the model and hopefully they have better pics of all the electrical wiring so i know what i dealing with lol

Your going to need to order a new mercury service manual if your going to be working on the engine yourself. The mercury part number for your engine service manual is 90-976583. Good luck.

i think mine is a 2 prong version for for voltage regular but the link u sent takes me to the switch box iguess that is the power packs

but here is video i took i not sure what all i need and some stuff is not even in the diagrams cuz there is no full wiring, plus there are ends i dont know where they go to
