I can turn it over until the battery is just about dead before it fires off. I have give it short throttle strokes to keep it running but once it’s warm it runs great and very easy to start. Some times I turn it over until the battery is just about dead then let it sit for several hours and many times it fires right off.

I have new plugs, new filter, new gas tank hose, fittings and bulb to motor. I drilled small holes into the carb air intake big enough to fit a carb cleaner spray nozzle tube and that works great for cleaning. I give it couple of shots every year at the beginning of fishing season. I also use stabil and some sea foam. I’m thinking fuel pump but just thought I’d ask you good folks on your thoughts. Any help is greatly appreciated !

Thanks – Uncle Dave

To clean carbs they need to be removed and disassembled, the hole in the air box to spray cleaner is not going to cut it.
That engine has a prime start solenoid on one of the carbs. You have to make sure that is functioning as is was intended by the factory

It runs great once it's started so I'll definitely start with the the prime start solenoid
I greatly appreciate the help RP !

@UDave69 did you figure out? Ive had this same problem for a while too. I replace the choke solenoid last year and helped for several outings but then it did not. I can hear the click when choke is activated. only happens in water, not at home on muffs

The OP's model does not have a choke. Sounds like your model does.

Do you happen to know the model identity of your motor?

They are not all the same. What works for one model might not work for a different model.

Sorry, I thought I'd replied to this:
I put a new prime start solenoid in it and that fixed the problem - THANKS RP !
Now it starts up fine and runs great but when I idle it runs rough and kills at low idle so when you come into the dock at low idle it dies. I use to start it with the start arrow lines d up on the handle but now I have to give it a little more gas before it starts.
Does this motor have a Idle Air control or idle speed valve on it ? I can't find one in the diagrams.

It is not a solenoid. It is a Primestart device.

No idle air control valve. Throttle valves are set to obtain the correct idle RPM.

Thanks for the info Boscoe !
I must have had dirt in a jet or ? because it idles fine now. Maybe the Sea Foam/Stabil did it's job.
Had "Eastern Iowa Fishing Has No Boundary's" last week and it ran great !
