Hi bought this 2000 yamaha 100hp 4 stroke with 4 carbs.
Started fine oil level was 1.25 inches over the top fill line.changed oil. Took it out it idled rough while in gear at low rpm.. sped it up and seemed better. Got it up to 4500rpm for about 10-15 mins..slowed down and then went to speed up and it bogged down...then slowly brought up sped to 3000rpm but hesitated. Put in neutral and it died...took a bit to start tried one more time but it bogged down right away.
Ordered a new fuel pump..
It starts fine on muffs too but idles rough then eventually stalls out if left without warmup lever....increase rpms in neutral with warm up.lever and it seems to be better.
The primer bulb has been checked but when put back into the system it bleeds down (goes soft) both when engine is running or not.
Bled fuel through all carb bowls drain seems clean.
Checked both fuel pumps for a diaphragm leak they are not leaking when loosened from block.
Bought a new fuel pump because the oil level was 1.25 above top oil level mark. Will replace tomorrow
checked plugs they are fine.
Checked tank vent and anti siphon seems to be fine.
Heard the problem maybe ethanol gel in the carbs jets..was wondering if there is an easy method to clean them? Sea foam? Prefer not to mess with them but it seems to be the problem.
Any help or ideas will be great.
Thanks
