I have a 5hp long shaft motor that I replaced the impeller on. When I put the lower unit back in and connected the two shift shafts, it will no longer stay in reverse gear. If you push back and hold the shift lever it will go into reverse but immediately go back into neutral as soon as you release pressure on it. I have tried putting it back together with the lower unit in neutral, reverse and forward and nothing seems to make it better. Has anyone run into this before and is there something Im missing?
