I have a no start condition on 1 of my engined. Ran up the engine to warmup for oil change (about 20 min at idle) shut down, changed oil and filter. After refill started engine, ran for about 20 secs, sputtered and stalled would not restart. Replaced fuel ball pumped up still no start. Removed discharge hose from LP pump , pumped ball and got fuel, removed LP pump and operated by hand, got fuel. Pumped up fuel ball until very firm tilted engine, opened VST drain valve only got about 1/2 oz fuel out. Ball remained firm. When pumped up should VST tank be full? Could the float and needle be stuck closed?

Have yet to crank engine to check LP pump discharge
All filters have been changed
Other engine runs fine

Can you hear the HP fuel pump running for 3 seconds when you turn the key to ignition?

If your hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key as mentioned and it doesn't start recheck the safety lanyard as it will crank but not start.
If you don't hear the fuel pump kick on check the fuses.

If that doesn't fix it, Turn key off and loosening the bolt that holds the fuel hose onto the fuel pipe joint #8 on the bottom of fuel rail on the manifold injector parts diagram. When you loosen this bolt fuel should leak out so have a catch pan. if you turn the key and the electric pump runs fuel will spray out of that connection. After you have determined fuel is making it to thru the VST to the fuel injector rail and it is still not starting then you have an electrical issue and need to check fuses or relays. this procedure will eliminate guess work if VST float is stuck or is full of fuel or not.
