my motor was having issues trimming up, so i have been purging the trim fluid to get water out over 1 month, along with the trim motor overheating and intermittent stopping & starting while trying to trim it up to remove water.
the motor overheats and shuts off, i have been looking into replacing the O-rings and draining the fluid from rams,

Sorry to say but that motor is probably not going to work much longer. Especially if it's salt water. But even fresh water in there isn't good.

This could be really hard (and expensive) to get fixed.

One thing I found years ago on Honda trim motors is that the rubber grommet that the two wires go through entering the housing will allow water in the motor and valve assembly.

I always used "sensor safe" sealer/adhesive/gasket makeron the wires and that grommet on a new motor.

I always used "Right Stuff" as it's the best I've found.

Good luck.

yes water intrusion happens allot on this motor, cowl locking system temperamental trim motor replaced, which was the main problem of the motor operation, The trim water is still creamy, i saw there is an Allen screw at the bottom of the pump, will try to drain it tomorrow and replace o rings

How are you seeing (the trim water is still creamy) and purging the fluid is this thru the ram seals or when you pulled the electric trim motor? If you have water in the trim unit on an 2004 motor it is likely a cavity hole in the bottom rear of the unit as they didn't get grounding straps until 2007 model year, the 2004-2006 seemed to rot as a result. Can you see sheen in the water around the engine when down in the water? sometimes can even see a stream wake from fluid coming out of the corrosion hole when trim unit switch moved.
Good luck getting the allen screw to move to drain it. wouldn't spend a lot of time or money on that. If you can get boat out of water and see dripping from bottom of unit indicating a corrosion hole might be able to sand and JB weld hole and purge that for a while. Unfortunately changing out trim unit is not easy like on a yamaha. Once it dies I would consider buying a descent condition oem unit from eBay $400-500 before sending off old unit to a rebuilder for $699 which actually turns into $1000 or more.
