2006 Yamaha 9.9 4 Stroke Fuel / Start Problem

Hello,

I just bought a used 9.9 yamaha 4 stroke 2006. I had a hard time starting it. Pulled 50 times with nothing. Then I shifted it into gear and opened the throttle, went back to neutral and it fired tried the same again and then it started and ran. It ran fine on the water for an hour. Stored it for a week and tried it again, it started with the same procedure but never took it out on the water. Two weeks later we tried it again it fired a couple times with the procedure above but it would not start. Tried starting fluid and it would run but die right away.

The fuel should be good as I Just topped it up.

I pulled the plugs and they are dry. I checked fuel up to the carb which seems good, the previous owner had it to the dealer last year as it would not start the mechanic told him it was a plugged carb.

I cannot seem to find a manual on this engine. Does anyone have one that they can share.?

Any ideas on where to start from here? It sounds like it could be plugged again as from what I have learned these jets are very small. I would like to take it apart but it’s difficult without a manual.

I would be very appreciative of any ideas you may have.

Thanks ahead of time

I am in the US. Am not able to find a US equivalent to your Canadian model. Suggest you call a Canadian Yamaha dealer.
