2007 Honda BF90 - hooked up battery backwards - dead

Hey all, I did the unthinkable and hooked up my battery backwards.

It blew the 30a fuse on port side of engine. Did not blow the 15 A fuse above. I tried to start (after I realized it was incorrect and replaced fuse) and got a relay click sound then all is dead. Can't use the trim to lift engine either. I just get a bit if a scratchy sound out of the small Control Relay box in the back port side of engine. Somethings blown, but I just need some troubleshooting tips on exact places to hit up. |

I have my 12.69v on the main heavy lead coming in and I have it across the 30A fuse.

Any help would be appreciated. Damn i'm a dummy

Could just be a faulty ground. You were just messing with the battery connections. You might try to check if either of the cables is corroded or if ther is a loose ground wire somewhere.

No, something went at the motor area. I hooked it up backwards and smoked the 30A fuse. Other problems arise.

I checked voltage @ fuse and main solenoid near starter. And I ohmed out both lines in from battery and they are good.

You were right, thanks for reply. Funny, I checked the V and I ohmed out all connections. I just had a high resistance open in my + barrel at battery

I had a bad connection inside the barrel on my + connection coming from motor to battery. Just need to replace and solder new connection on wires from motor.
