My t60 outboard quit while running at medium speed, now it won’t restart. It has been 100% reliable rill now,Kill switch is not the problem.Primary fuel filter bowl is full of fuel, appears to have spark at spark plug cap…have ordered new lift pump but would welcome any input as to other possible causes..thnx…GW

You can pump the primer bulb to take the place of the lift pump to see if the lift pump is the problem.

Do you hear the electric fuel pump run for a few seconds at key on?

Do you see an spark at the plug electrodes?

If you mist some gasoline into the air intake inlet what happens?

Thanks for the response…will check those items when next at the boat & respond…cheers…GW

O.k…I am back at the boat and I took your advise and pumped the fuel bulb while my wife turned the ignition.
The motor almost started until I pumped the bulb faster than it actually started.
I replaced the lift pump with the unit I had ordered on Amazon while reusing the original “O” ring.
The engine started and is running fine..,so thanks for your advise!
Now I have another question.
When the engine started it had a “knocking” noise which gradually went away as it ran.
I encountered this last year for the first time when first starting the engine after winter storage.
I store my boat on the front of my lot after winching it out of the water on a marine rail.
I then change the engine & lower unit oil then tarp the boat over for the winter.
The temperatures here can get as low as -20 over the winter.
In the spring when I put the boat back in the lake I change the water separating filter and put new gas in the tank.
As I said, the knocking noise started last year after using the engine without fault for 15 years.
Could this be that the oil pump is getting weak and not pumping oil as well as it used too?
What are your thoughts?…
