Hi,

I just bought this boat, had it our 3 times and then the starter went. I realized when looking at the service bills in the past that they had a issue with water coming out of the engine. I'm sure it filled the cavity of the flywheel, rusted it all out and the starter went.

I can see they redid the water pump, put a bunch of fixes in to fix the issue but then they sold the boat to his brother. I bought the boat the owner said they had no idea about this. This boat has been a total money dump (cracked intake in kicker, total write off), trailer issues. Anyways at this point I'm trying to understand is there a way to get around this issue without pulling the power head, if I try to clean inside, wire brush it etc and then reinstall a starter or this is always going to be a issue forever even if the water is no longer coming in.

If thats the case I feel ill just take the loss and sell the engine and get a new one or call it a day on the boat, sell it and put this as the biggest waste of time and money and move on. I sold a rock solid boat for this one so its been a big disappointment.

I use this and it cleaned up.
