I recently bought a Stingray 185 with a Mercruiser 3.0 MPI. It great for about 15-20 minuets then we took an hour break for lunch and swimming. We fired the boat up and and for about another 20 min. once I started getting all the way on the throttle the motor lagged and would not build up speed. Occasionally an alarm would go off for about a second it was very random when it would go off. The boat would eventually get going after a while but as soon as I would go half throttle and then to full throttle it would start lagging again. I should mention all gauges were in normal temps/pressures. It ran fine in neutral. I pulled the fuel filter and there was some debris in it, I will be changing it as soon as the new one arrives. I also changed the plugs and blew out the fuel vent. I'm currently in the process of changing the fuel pump filter. Do you all have any recommendations on what to do next? Below is the junk that was in the fuel filter.
