2014 Mercury Optimax 115 2 stroke rebuild

Disassembled a 2014 Optimax Pro XS 115 and found the #2 piston was smoked, rings were seized on the piston. Pistons 1 & 3 were perfect, still could see cross-hatching on the cylinder walls. Any advise on rebuilding this engine? #2 cylinder sleeve has some scratches but nothing too extreme. I'll keep you posted on the rebuild!

I sure will! I will be sure to check all the oiler ports, especially #2 cylinder and verify oil pump is operating properly. I did find this kink in the line between the oil tank to the oil pump (see photo). I have to assume this restriction was not letting enough oil thru at high rpms. At least that's a start to many other possibilities. Thanks for responding!

Is it a second hand engine? Those zip tie cuts do not look like a factory job.
I used to have one of those, on a Lund Tyee. One season I started to see oil collecting inside the cowls. Traced it to one of those small oil lines being cracked at an attachment point. Luckily discovered before it completely broke off.

My son-in-law bought it new in 2015, but bass pro put a new oiler tank on it under warranty, the old one started leaking. My guess is the tie wraps were used at that point. My only concern is this would have affected all the cylinders, so I'll be sure to keep this in mind during reassembly. I did find another grey small line that was hanging inside the engine (see pic), I'll be researching exactly what this is. Anyone know?

Need to send the injectors off for cleaning and testing. That kink would have effected all cylinder not just one
