395 merc water leak

Edit^^^^ 305,merc.

I purchased a very clean Arriva 2050 bowrider. The P.O. told me the block was cracked,so I got a great deal on it.I decided to run it to figure out what all i needed other then just a long lock.
After 5 min of running,I noticed nothing was mixing.I am not getting any water in the oil,nor in the cylinders.

It runs perfect.I was scratching my head.I then called the man up to ask what it did for him,he said it was leaking water in the bilge.

I ran it once more and found what he was talking about.

The thing is it is to perfect to be a cracked Block. The water is not a leak, but a perfect round pour.

I have yet to find out it's location,I was assuming a freeze plug/core plug or a water drain blew out.

It is very hard to work in there with the room I have,it is leaking on the Starboard side of the motor. It is coming out below the manifold. With the location of the leak being right at the motor mount.I just can't tell the exact location just yet.

I guess the information I am looking for,is there a way for a fresh water, dry stored raw water boat motor to crack a drained block, was not winterized but drained.Could it really have cracked a hole to then pour out like a faucet? Not leak funny like a crack.Just a nice round pour.

Not to have any moisture in the motor, run perfect?

I think this guy was lied to by the Marine store he took it to for a quote/assessment and they told him, cracked lock.$3000 to replace.

I am going to attempt to use a mirror to see the leak if possible.I just do not want to remove the manifold or the motor mount if not necessary.

Are there any other drains that could have caused this?

There is typically an elbow with a drain plug at the bottom of each manifold. For winter lay-up, most folks leave the drain plugs out. Is it possible the drain plug was left out?

I did remove 2 manifold hoses to try and check for a mani fold leak, would that have shown this at the elbow?
I removed the two upper houses for each manifold and run/water with my hose to fill them and look for a leak.

Would the elbow have leaked this way?

What year engine? Some engines have a brass "T" plug just in front of the starter near the motor mount. Take a look w/a bright light and mirror or use a digital camera to snap some pics. when it is leaking. Then view the pics. on a large screen TV; you'll see it. It sounds like a block drain plug missing.

Nope,... It's Impossible for a Drained block to crack or push out a coreplug....
But,....
A block that was Thought to be drained will Crack,+/or push out the coreplugs...

There's a coreplug, Right behind the motor mounts...
There's also the block Drains, just inches aft of the motor mounts....
Until you Look,... We're All just Guessin'....
