I changed the impeller and put

I changed the impeller and put it all back together and then put the motor in a trash can to run it and there is still no water moving through. It just spits a small amount of water out. Any ideas?? thanks for any help.

As JWB states, you can remove the thermostat temporarily, BUT if the thermostat is faulty, replace it as the engine demands a thermostat.

If all of the above suggestions sill result with a lack of water pressure........

the area of the lower unit that the water pump impeller plate rests upon is notorious for being eaten away at the rear portion slightly on that model. If this is the case, that area will require to be built up and surfaced with "Gray Marine Tex" or "JB Weld", something of that nature.

Have seen the exhaust baffel g

Have seen the exhaust baffel get a hole in it and blow the water from the water jacket. You might look at that if all else fails.

hey thanks a ton i would be totally lost without all of this info. im learning as i go with outboards. Im waiting for a few parts to complete all of this. but i can't seem to find a new water pump for this model. any sugestions? Im tired of taking the drift boat in the bay! its kinda rough but it works i guess. well thanks for any info.
